What is multi-factor authentication?
How does Nadex protect your account?
Nadex offers Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) as an added security layer in addition to your username and password. With Multi-factor Authentication enabled on your Nadex account, you will need to provide a unique verification code from an authenticator app after entering your username and password.
Events that may trigger Multi-factor Authentication:
First time login to Nadex account.
Sign-in attempt from an unrecognized device.
Sign-in attempt from an unrecognized IP/Location.
What is Multi-Factor Authentication?
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a user verification method that requires two sources of verification to sign in: something you know (your password) and something you have.
All Nadex accounts are protected with MFA for new devices. This is a layer of security applied to all Nadex accounts to ensure it’s really you signing in to your Nadex account.
Why use Multi-Factor Authentication?
MFA adds an extra layer of security to Nadex accounts, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorized access. By implementing this additional security measure, Nadex is taking proactive steps to safeguard its Members' personal information and maintain the privacy and integrity of their accounts.
MFA reduces the likelihood of many types of cyber-attacks. It's common for third parties to steal usernames and passwords or digitally attack Members accounts. MFA greatly impedes these malicious attempts.
How it works
Once you enter your username and password, you’ll be asked to provide further authentication via an authenticator app. Once your preferred authenticator app is set up, you'll also have the option to verify yourself upon login by receiving a one-time code via email or by fingerprint/face recognition on a mobile device.
Authenticator app – You’ll copy a one-time code from your preferred authenticator app.
Email Address - You’ll copy a one-time code delivered to your email address.
Fingerprint or Face recognition – Set up on your mobile device.
How to set up MFA
Step 1:
Download your preferred authenticator app from your phone's app store. Popular options include Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, and Okta verify.
Step 2:
From a computer, go to the Nadex login screen and enter your username and password.
A pop-up window will appear, displaying a QR code for MFA setup.
Open your authenticator app on your phone and choose the option to add a new account. Look for the QR code scanning feature within the app and use it to scan the QR code. This will set up authentication for your Nadex account.
If you are having trouble scanning the QR code, then click on “trouble scanning?” which will redirect you to a screen displaying a manual code. This code needs to be copied from this screen and then entered into your authenticator app to successfully complete MFA setup.
Once you've added Nadex to your authenticator app, it will generate a one-time code that refreshes every 30 seconds.
Enter the current one-time code from your authenticator app on the Nadex login screen, and you're all set!
How to log in after MFA is enabled
Visit the login screen on our website and enter your username and password.
Open your authenticator app and enter the one-time code displayed.
If you wish to avoid going through MFA again on the same device, select the option "Remember this device for 30 days."

Experiencing difficulties with your authenticator app?
If you encounter any issues with your authenticator app or wish to use an alternative method to authenticate:
Visit the login screen on our website and enter your username and password.
Click on "Try another method" and select the email option.
Enter the code that was delivered to your registered email address and that’s it.
If you are using your mobile device, you can also set up fingerprint or face recognition.
